Hamilton high school students awarded $5000 grant for the MS Society

On January 14, 2014 a group of grade 9 Bishop Ryan High School students were awarded a $5,000 grant for their charity of choice- the MS Society of Canada, Hamilton Chapter. The students took part in the Youth Philanthropy Initiative (YPI) and worked for two months on their presentation. Team Mega Strong met with Hamilton Chapter staff to learn about multiple sclerosis and how the MS Society helps those living with MS and their families. Judges included the school’s principal, the superintendent of the HWCDSB and Hamilton’s mayor Bob Bratina was in attendance for the presentation.

YPI was launched in Toronto in 2001 by Julie Toskan-Casale, Victor Casale and Frank Toskan, founders of M.A.C. Cosmetics.
