Sunday Aug 24th, 2014 Sunshine!

Peanut is recovering nicely from having her female reproductive parts removed.  I picked her up Friday from the vets.  Of course it was pouring down rain, and the comment from the vet is to keep her dry, no baths etc. for a week.  How is that to happen when we have seemingly endless days of rain, interspersed with sunshine??  Thankfully Saturday was moderately warm and dry and today is unbelieving hot and sunny.

I don’t know where this summer has gone.  I don’t think we have had one complete week of hot sunny weather.  Every Tuesday it has pretty much thunder stormed, so the nick name is now Tornado Tuesday.  It is hard to stay motivated, or rather get motivated with our crazy summer weather.

Pluses -we had a good holiday at the cottage,

Had a couple of good Miata cruises,

Motorcycle Charity rides were successful,

Got out walking more with Peanut.

Maybe it is because my energy level isn’t where I want it to be.  You can tell me to just go with the flow, and that I will be more content if I just accept the day as it is, but that does not always work.  Depression can make getting out of bed, even on a sunny day hard to do.  I kicked my butt out of bed today, walked the dog, did some laundry, dishes, more dog walking, and cut the grass, more dog walking and then figured I had better eat something.  It isn’t that I am depressed about any one thing, it is just a swirling feeling that grabs me and keeps me stuck.

Stuff I still want to do this summer – visit friends in Haliburton -they’ve probably forgotten what I look like.

Sit out in the back yard without being attacked by the ginormous Muskoka Muskquitoes.

Evidently I need to get out my mindfulness books and get with the program.

Miatas in Bala

Who knew there was this lovely place to find this and that in Bala? A few weeks ago, the lady drivers who belong to the Miatas of Muskoka , went on a little cruise around Lake Muskoka and took in the sights. We stopped at Barnyard Savey in Bala, and then carried on to Port Carling to the Museum to learn some local history.  We all live here, but I can honestly say, a history lesson was timely. A lovely lunch then on to an outside Art Display just outside of Bracebridge.

August 8th, 2014 Struggling for Normal.

I am becoming more challenged with adding pictures to my blog.  I don’t understand why I don’t see a preview of the picture that I want to upload.  It used to be a nice photo gallery where you saw a thumbnail of the picture.  I tell it to preview pictures, but it isn’t happening…urrgg.

I am home for the second day in a row.  A tummy bug I think.  Migraine as well today, but I have a med for that.  I think I need a nap.  All that fiddling about trying to get a decent picture wore me out.

Aug 2nd 2014

The sun is shining and it is quite hot.  We are enjoying a couple of beverages in the gazebo as you can see.  I was going to post from my laptop, but it seems to be in a non responsive mode so I thought I would try from my Samsung Galaxy 5 phone.  Seems to be okay and it took the picture too!  I’ve been rather lax in blogging, work is busy, the new puppy – now six months old has changed up my routine, and when I do feel like writing…I don’t.

There is very little noise outside. It’s like everyone took the day off.  We were supposed to get thunderstorms but they seem to be passing south of us and we have been left with the still hot air.

What do moths mean?  I have seen more moths today than I can remember.
